Well well well...
Exhibition title: Well well well...
Meltem Ulbegi is a Dutch artist whose practice is informed by both Turkish and Dutch cultural inheritance. Her work moves between medieval European art and Islamic miniature painting, drawing on shared traditions of symbolism and storytelling. Currently exploring the Seven Deadly Sins and the Ouroboros, she reflects on cycles of desire and renewal. Through collage and the use of newspaper cuttings, fragments of contemporary life are woven into historical and mythological imagery.
Enzy Jhang is an artist from Daejeon, South Korea currently based in Amsterdam. Her practice stems from the question of who holds agency over our bodies. To investigate this, she utilizes her body and traces physical and emotional sensations like pain, tension, relief, and excitement she feels to their roots and explores the interwoven relationships of capitalism, labor, and identity. Her works are not confined in one medium, but mutate between different forms depending on the subject and purpose of each project.
In this exhibition, she presents three paintings about human bodies. The bodies in the paintings are mutated, mysterious, and estranged, deriving from the artist's feeling of disconnection with her own body during her job. Through these paintings, the artist wants to question how our conception of physical presence is shaped through exploitation and isolation of the contemporary world.
Well well well...I'm Deniz. I knew it a long time ago… photography is my great love and passion. After graphic school, I took a photography course and then started working as a professional free-lance photographer. The assignments varied enormously from small individual assignments to monthly assignments for a large publishing house. And every assignment was different and a challenge every time. That is what makes photography so interesting to me.Photographing the right photo is a creative process based on feeling, but certainly also a technical challenge. A challenge that is not always easy, but from which I learn a lot. I am also working on my own work and sometimes exhibit or participate in projects. In short, I hope never to lose this passion!
Didi is a multidisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam. In the past year she has been concentrating on performance. Friday the 13th of February there is a live broadcast by Fatamorgana. Which is a character where they explore the invisibility of women and blur gender with camp aesthetics. In collaboration with PUMA we send radio waves live into Sky and capture frequencies with Antenna. This is where invisibility becomes a superpower. Thanks to James for blurring my voice into the abyss. Benefit for independent news from Sudan: Radio Dabanga
