VANAM
As a self-taught Artist who grew up in the vibrant land of India, Sravani’s work is deeply influenced by the culture, colour and landscapes very unique to the country.
And for her, the depth, mystery and the captivating nature of dense wild forests have always been intriguing. She believes Forest bathing (’Shinrin-yoku’ as the Japanese call it) is a way of finding tranquility and therapy for modern-day mental health issues.
"Vanam" (a Sanskrit word for Forests) has been chosen as the title of the exhibition to honour the impact that forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), slow-living and nature therapy have had on Sravani, which shaped her artworks. Sravani intends to draw the viewer's attention to the oft-missed and camouflaged details in nature and wildlife through her paintings. All her artworks are inspired by her own travels and wild-life safaris with some fantasy and fiction involved. The exhibition also involved a collection of paintings made with Chocolate.
