CLAY BABY CLAY
In response to current political realities, Clay Baby Clay proposes a more empathetic relationship with the Earth. The clay-rich soil of the Lutkemeerpolder—the purest and most untouched part of Amsterdam—serves as the starting point for a reflection on our limited understanding and experience with the land beneath us.
Working with clay becomes a way to reconnect, a new beginning. As hands dig deeper into the earth, they pass through its essential elements: water, air, fire, and soil. This process invites us to strip away conventional narratives and write a new story from the ground up.
Four artists from diverse backgrounds share their reflections on these themes. Each one explores the role of materiality in their work, using clay to communicate, question, and connect more deeply with the viewer.
During a three-day exhibition, the artists will engage in dialogue with visitors, exchanging knowledge and perspectives to enrich the collective experience and foster mutual learning.
